United Thanks Offering, UTO
Heifer Project (during Lent), Heifer
Calvary Outreach Grants
Calvary’s outreach grant cycle begins in the fall with the request for applications (download an application for a Calvary Grant) and ends with the approval of the recommended grants by the vestry at their March meeting. The grant committee is chaired by parishioner Carissa Hussong and includes members of the Calvary staff, vestry and other parishioners. We use the following criteria when considering the grant requests:
- our mission statement, making God’s love visible in downtown Memphis, expanded to include all of Memphis;
- opportunities for volunteering by our parishioners;
- how the funds will be used;
- and the soundness of the organization making the request.
In March 2009, Calvary allocated a total of $119,910 to outreach grants. Read more about this distribution in Calvary's Chronicle newsletter.
